Chores.
Always know whose turn it is.
The Shack's chore tracker ends the "I did it last time" argument for good. Every chore lives in one shared list with a clear owner, a schedule, and a visible history of who actually did what.

Set chores to repeat daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, every N days — or on no schedule at all with "when needed" chores that surface by condition instead of by date. Overdue chores rise to the top in red, everyone sees the same list in real time, and a gentle nudge button lets you remind a housemate without starting a fight in the group chat.
Why houses use it
Every rhythm, including none
Daily, specific weekdays, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, yearly, every N days — or "when needed", for chores that follow how grubby things are, not the calendar.
Clear ownership
Assign chores to a housemate, rotate turns automatically, share a chore between a group, or leave it open for whoever gets there first.
Effort that actually counts
Mark a chore Standard, Big or Major and Fair Share weighs it accordingly — an oven deep-clean is never worth the same as wiping a bench.
See condition, not just deadlines
Recurring chores show a condition bar that fills as the cycle passes — 'the floor's getting grubby' is visible before anything goes overdue. "When needed" chores go further: no due date and no overdue state, just a freshness reading that tells you when it's time.
One-tap done, with undo
Tick a chore done in one tap. Ticked the wrong one? Undo it just as fast.
Nudges, not nagging
A built-in nudge sends a polite notification to whoever's turn it is — rate-limited so it never becomes spam.
Don’t take our word for it — click around a real household.

How to use Chores in The Shack
- 01
Add your chores
Create each chore once — name it, pick how often it repeats, and set a due time if it matters.
- 02
Assign or leave open
Give each chore an owner, or leave it unassigned for anyone to claim.
- 03
Tick things off
Everyone marks their chores done from their phone. Overdue items stay visible until they're handled.
- 04
Let the schedule work
Completed chores automatically come back when they're next due — no re-adding, no spreadsheets.
Common questions
Can I set a chore to repeat every 3 days?
Yes — 'every N days' scheduling is built in, alongside daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly and yearly options. The Shack even helps you keep the cadence right if you tick a chore off late.
Can kids use the chore list?
Yes. Kid accounts get a simplified view focused on their own chores, so young housemates can take part without seeing everything else.
What happens if someone doesn't do their chore?
The chore shows as overdue for the whole house, and anyone can send them a rate-limited nudge notification. There's also a 'not done' option so the schedule moves on honestly — and chores skipped repeatedly get escalated so they can't quietly slide forever.
Does the app know some chores are bigger than others?
Yes — give any chore an effort weight (Standard ×1, Big ×2, Major ×3) and the Fair Share view weighs contributions by it, so the person doing the heavy jobs gets the credit they've earned.
